What we collect about you
North East for Europe will collect information about you so that we can provide you with more information about policies or campaigns that we think you might be interested in, and to respond to any questions sent to the Party.
We only collect the information that we need to fulfil the purposes set out at collection, and you can update this information at any time.
We will collect information about you from in the following ways:
- In person / over the phone
- When you use or register on our website
- When you join North East for Europe or donate
- When you volunteer
- When you interact with us on our social media sites such as Facebook or Twitter
- When you complete and return our contact form, surveys and petitions
- From other sources, including the Electoral Register
How we use / share your information
We may use the information we collect from you to:
- Canvass for support
- Respond to your queries
- Process your application to volunteer
- Understand your views and issues important to you and the wider area
- Administer membership & supporter records
- Conduct fundraising activities
- Tell you about any policies and campaigns that may be of interest to you

You will always be provided with an opportunity to opt-out of receiving information from North East for Europe if you later change your mind, and we will only keep your personal data for as long as required to meet the purposes set out in this Notice, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Your personal data may be shared with our partner organisations, European Movement UK and Britain for Europe, to enable them to contact you.
In addition, we will use third party service providers to undertake processing operations on our behalf, and this may require us to share your personal data with them. We will only provide our trusted service providers with the minimum amount of personal data they need to fulfil the services we request, and we stipulate that they protect this information and do not use it for any other purpose.
For example, if you use a credit or debit card to make a payment we send the details to PayPal, who do our online payment processing. However, details may be stored by PayPal for the purposes of processing further payments you have instructed us to collect.
However, we will never pass your personal data to any other third parties except where you have given us permission to do so (or are required to do by law). For example, where you have signed a petition and are clearly informed that this petition will be presented to a third party.
How you can choose to interact with us
By providing us with your contact details (e.g. email address, telephone number etc.), you agree to receive information from us about our activities and campaigns. You can unsubscribe from these messages at any time by following the instructions contained in those messages, or through the information provided in this Notice. You can also request a copy of the data we hold about you at any time, by placing a “subject access request”. This request must be made in writing.
